Capitals To Give Season-Ticket Holders Option Of Physical Or Digital Tickets For '15-16

Three years after introducing digital cards for season-ticket holders, the Capitals will "offer a 'paper or plastic' option" for the '15-16 season, according to Dan Steinberg of the WASHINGTON POST. The team in an e-mail to ticket holders this week wrote fans will have the option to choose between "either a season ticket booklet or a digital ticket card." The switch "was made after conducting midseason focus groups and surveys" with ticket holders. Monumental Sports & Entertainment Chief Revenue Officer Jim Van Stone said, "The feedback we've gotten from people through the years was if you could give us a choice of paper or digital, that would be fantastic." Van Stone added that it is "too early to estimate how many people will return to paper ticketing, but he guessed that a large majority would stick with the digital cards." Van Stone: "We want them to be satisfied with their investment. If this makes it a better experience for them, we want to deliver on that" (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 2/19).
