Data Shows Social Media Activity For LaVine, Westbrook Up Big After All-Star Events

T’Wolves G Zach LaVine since his win Saturday in the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest has generated social media activity 480 times his prior daily average, according to data from the Adobe Digital Index, which measures social media activity across a wide variety of platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and various blogs. Adobe found that LaVine has averaged about 800,000 daily social media mentions since his dunk contest win. Thunder G Russell Westbrook, the NBA All-Star Game MVP, has generated social media mentions 29 times his prior daily average since Sunday. Heading into the ASG, the Lakers were the most mentioned NBA team on social media this season, despite the team being on pace for the franchise’s worst season on record. The Warriors have generated the largest increase in social media activity since the preseason, while Cavaliers F LeBron James predictably has been the most popular player.
