NBA Names & Faces: Foot Locker Unveils New Spot For Kyrie Irving's Nike Shoe

Foot Locker today unveiled a new TV spot starring Cavaliers G Kyrie Irving and focusing on his signature Nike shoe, the Kyrie 1. In the ad from BBDO, Irving appears alongside actor and rapper Ice-T. The 30-second spot is part of the retail chain's national marketing campaign titled, "It Must Be February." The commercial is viewable digitally and will begin getting airplay today (Foot Locker).

LOS HERMANOS: In Memphis, Ronald Tillery notes Grizzlies C Marc Gasol and Bulls F Pau Gasol "will make history Sunday as the first brothers to start in an NBA All-Star game." The Gasol Foundation is "selling a limited edition T-shirt to commemorate the event, and proceeds will benefit the Gasol Foundation’s health and wellness enrichment programming." The initiative "operates" in the U.S. and Spain. The shirts, "available in black and gray, will be available online" until Feb. 22 (Memphis COMMERCIAL APPEAL, 2/12).

JUST DO ITALY: In San Antonio, Dan McCarney reported Spurs G Marco Belinelli will wear a "custom, Italian-themed pair of Nike Hyperdunks as he defends his title at the 3-point contest." The shoes "sport red and green trimming around a white base, mirroring the Italian flag," with "IT" on the outer tongue and "Family First" on the inside (MYSANANTONIO.com, 2/11).

BLACK TO THE FUTURE: Shoe company Brandblack yesterday announced its '15 Spring/Summer retail delivery of the brand's first full men's apparel collection, titled "FUTURELEGENDS." Additionally, the company will be releasing "J.Crossover II," the follow-up to Clippers G Jamal Crawford's first signature shoe, the "J.Crossover" (Brandblack).
