Stats LLC Continues Active Run Under New Owners, Acquires The Sports Network

Stats LLC has acquired Pennsylvania-based sports data provider The Sports Network, continuing a run of activity under new owners Vista Equity Partners. Stats will maintain The Sports Network's brand name, and the purchase in particular gives Stats a sizable market presence in Canada, in part through the partnership The Sports Network holds with the NHL. Financial terms were not disclosed, and Stats execs did not indicate what, if any, changes will be made with The Sports Network's employee base. Since Vista purchased Stats nearly a year ago, the company has acquired Bloomberg Sports and execs there have pledged additional deals. "The combination of Stats and The Sports Network will expand our ability to meet the increasing demand for the creative use of sports data and analytics across different customer segments globally," said Stats CEO Gary Walrath.
