Super Bowl Names In The News: Goodell, IOC's Bach Meet, Exchange Ideas On Host Cities

NFL Commissioner ROGER GOODELL on Saturday morning met with IOC President THOMAS BACH, who “knows nothing about football and had never before witnessed a game” before yesterday’s Super Bowl. Bach following the meeting said that he “expected to receive tips during the game” from IOC TV & Marketing Services VP/Marketing Development EVAN HUNT, who played college football. Bach said that he and Goodell “talked about their shared interests in holding bid cities to their promises” (WSJ.com, 2/1)....Local politicians spotted at the Super Bowl included Arizona Gov. DOUG DUCEY, former Gov. JAN BREWER and U.S. Sen. JOHN MCCAIN (R-Ariz.). McCain “made appearances on national sports talk radio shows this past week to promote the event and Arizona.” Ducey also is “closely connected” to Cardinals President MICHAEL BIDWILL, “who supported Ducey’s gubernatorial campaign.” U.S. Rep. RUBEN GALLEGO (D-Ariz.) was “one of the only members” from the House of Representatives attending the game (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 2/1)....Political PR strategist MIKE FELDMAN and ABC's JONATHAN KARL "took a ride" on the Cowboys' team bus with Owner JERRY JONES, QB TONY ROMO and coach JASON GARRETT (POLITICO.com, 2/2)....Several celebrities took in the big game in person, including actors JOHN TRAVOLTA and MARK WAHLBERG, and musicians STEVEN TYLER and KENNY CHESNEY (LATIMES.com, 2/1)....Actors ANNA FARIS, CHRIS PRATT and CHRIS EVANS attended the game together (EW.com, 2/1).
