Patriots CB Malcolm Butler and WR Julian Edelman "are going to Disneyland," as the two teammates "recorded the traditional 'I'm going to Disneyland' commercial" after last night's 28-24 Super Bowl win, according to Joseph Pimentel of the ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER. They "will receive a hero's welcome when they join Mickey Mouse in a cavalcade at noon Monday at Disneyland" (ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER, 2/2). ESPN's Darren Rovell notes Butler "comes away as a big guy" marketing-wise, as endorsement deals, like an autograph agreement, "will now come, and that's going to be a significant chunk of change" ("SportsCenter," ESPN, 2/2). Baker Street Advertising Senior VP & Exec Creative Dir Bob Dorfman noted Butler's interception instantly turned him "into a household name" and could lead to other endorsement deals (THE DAILY).
IN DEMAND: Butler this morning made the media rounds, appearing via satellite on all three network morning shows. He appeared on NBC’s “Today” and CBS’ “CBS This Morning” in the first seven minutes of their broadcasts, while ABC’s “GMA” aired a segment with him about 41 minutes into their telecast. He also appeared on a live episode of ESPN's "SportsCenter" (THE DAILY). The MMQB's Peter King writes the little-used Butler, an undrafted rookie, "spent most of the postgame in a daze" and Patriots Exec Dir of Media Relations Stacey James was seen in the locker room "explaining to him how his life was about to change." The interception that sealed the win gives him a "spot in New England sports lore forever." King: "Just as Dave Roberts’ stolen base ignited the Red Sox to four straight wins over the Yankees in the ALCS in 2004, Butler’s interception always will be remembered from Bridgeport to Bangor" (MMQB.SI.com, 2/2).
