WME-IMG Makes Foray Into Gaming With Acquisition Of Global eSports Management

WME-IMG has acquired Global eSports Management, an int'l full-service eSports talent agency that manages clients across the pro gaming industry. WME-IMG will now represent eSports players who compete at the highest levels globally. GEM was founded in '13 and reps some of the biggest personalities in gaming, including commentators Christopher “MonteCristo” Mykles and Robbert “Siv HD” van Eijndhoven, as well as players Jang Min Chul and Carlos “Ocelote” Rodriguez. The business operates out of the U.S., Europe and South Korea, which is the world’s largest eSports market. GEM handles sponsorship and marketing opportunities for its clients. The eSports and gaming industry has grown rapidly in recent years with more than 71 million people participating worldwide, according to GEM. Co-Founders Tobias Sherman and Min-Sik Ko also will join WME-IMG.
