The Texans "have increased ticket prices," as the average general ticket price for a game next season "will be $91.87," according to John McClain of the HOUSTON CHRONICLE. That is an increase of 7.5% from $85.44 for the past two seasons. The Texans "have sold out every game at NRG Stadium -- 132 in a row -- since their inaugural season" of '02. The team's most expensive seat "is $155 for field level prime 1," which is an increase from $145. The least expensive ticket "is $45 for gridiron end zone, an increase from $41.50" (CHRON.com, 1/18).

A SHINING LIGHT
: Texans DE J.J. Watt was profiled on NBC’s “Nightly News” last night, with NBC’s Lester Holt noting, “For negative stories about the NFL this past year, many involving the personal conduct of some players, one young man is setting standard for excellence and integrity on and off the field.” NBC’s Janet Shamlian noted Watt is “one of the league's best players," but his "footprint may be greater” off the field. Watt visits sick children and often is seen “greeting soldiers at games.” Watt said of his off-the-field motivation, “You're in the National Football League and you get this window where all eyes are on you. You can use that. You can use that platform for good.” Shamlian noted for "all his deeds caught on camera, there have been as many without fanfare, just the way he likes it.” SI’s Peter King said, “What we have too seldom in sports today is a guy whose performance off the field matches his greatness on the field. J.J. Watt is just like that” (“Nightly News,” NBC, 1/18).
