Golfer Freddie Jacobson Building Strong Business Portfolio In South Florida

Golfer Freddie Jacobson is using his connections and "corporate know-how" to grow his company, Jacobson and Co., whose products include GolfBeer, Tru Table dressings and dips, and Sweden-based real estate company Maxemal, according to Brian Biggane of the PALM BEACH POST. GolfBeer, started with the help of fellow golfers Keegan Bradley and Graeme McDowell, is "just making its way into restaurants, bars and 19th holes around Florida." The three golfers "spent copious hours with a brew master in Lakeland concocting styles that reflect" their backgrounds. Jacobson "recently met with distributors in Fort Pierce and Palm Beach County and has a deal in place with Duffy's restaurants." He is "hoping the beer will be available" for the PGA Tour Honda Classic at the end of February. Jacobson said that he "doesn’t expect" McDowell and Bradley "to be as involved in the business as he is." Tru Table high-protein dressings "are already in stores, thanks in part to a deal Jacobson made with Whole Foods last April." The Key Lime Caesar flavor "was honored as an editor’s pick by Gourmet Retailer magazine," and is now sold regionally in Wegmans, Kings Food Markets and Balducci’s. Meanwhile, Jacobson hopes to "take advantage of a budding market in Sweden" with Maxemal. Jacobson also has "launched a Hobe Sound entity entitled Florida Living Realty" (PALM BEACH POST, 1/16).
