Grateful Dead To Celebrate 50th Anniversary With Three Shows At Soldier Field

The Grateful Dead have booked three shows this summer at Soldier Field to celebrate the group’s 50th anniversary. The July 3-5 dates in Chicago will be the band’s final performances for the group’s “core four” of Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann. They will be joined on stage by guitarist Trey Anastasio of Phish and keyboardists Bruce Hornsby and Jeff Chimenti. The promoters are independent Peter Shapiro and AEG-owned Madison House Presents, according to Billboard. Ticket prices are $60-200, including $100 for a general admission pit front of stage. The Dead’s surviving members return to the same venue that played host to band co-founder Jerry Garcia’s final performance on July 9, 1995. Garcia died one month later.
