Conclusion Of NFL Regular Season Leads To Jump In League's December ComScore List

The NFL in December ranked third in comScore Media Metrix Multi-Platform sports rankings, its highest ranking in more than a year and a key part in a relative shakeup in the monthly figures. Fueled in part by the conclusion of the ’14 regular season, the NFL’s total of 57.7 million uniques during the month was 38% higher than its total from the same month a year ago. The Fox Sports-Sporting News Media digital partnership, meanwhile, fell from second in November to fourth last month, with a drop in unique visitors of more than 10 million. ESPN led the category for the ninth straight month, posting the fourth highest total in comScore sports history with 88.4 million unique visitors. ESPN also led in consumption metrics with an average of 92.9 minutes per user during the month, down from more than 106 minutes per user during December.
