The Dolphins named TODD KLINE to the newly created position of Chief Commercial Officer. He previously was AEG Senior VP/Partnership & Media Sales. In his new position, Kline will oversee all sponsor revenue, a responsibility that previously has been under JEREMY WALLS, who is dropping his Chief Revenue Officer title and instead assuming the chief marketing role for the club. He will direct the team’s marketing, ticket sales/operations and entertainment operations. The team also announced it has promoted JASON JENKINS from VP/Communications to Senior VP/Communications (Daniel Kaplan, Staff Writer).

AMBER IS THE COLOR OF YOUR ENERGY: The Dynamo today named Big East Conference Associate Commissioner/Women’s Basketball AMBER COX VP & CMO. Cox had been with the Big East since November '13. She also spent nine seasons with the WNBA Mercury, holding the role of President & COO during her final two seasons with the club. Cox rounds out a new senior management team under President CHRIS CANETTI that will oversee the MLS club, as well as the NWSL Dash, BBVA Compass Stadium and Houston Sports Park. Cox’ first day on the job will be Jan. 26 (Austin Karp, Assistant Managing Editor).

EXECS: New Era Cap President PETE AUGUSTINE yesterday made a "sudden departure" from the company after holding the position since November '01. He is leaving the company "by mutual agreement as CEO CHRIS KOCH assumes a more active role" (BUFFALO NEWS, 1/13)....The Pirates named former MLBer JAMEY CARROLL Special Assistant to the Baseball Operations staff (Pirates)....Minor League Baseball named former Rawlings Sports Goods exec and sports marketing veteran KURT HUNZEKER VP/Marketing Strategy. Hunzeker was previously at Rawlings for four years as Senior Dir of Brand Marketing, and prior to that was with the Active Network, Relay Worldwide and Team Marketing Report. MiLB also promoted HEATHER RABURN to Assistant Dir of Account Services and GABE RENDON to Manager of Account Services, while hired MICHELLE JURADO as Exec Assistant for Marketing (Eric Fisher, Staff Writer)....The Double-A Texas League Frisco RoughRiders named JASON DAMBACH Exec VP & GM. He most recently served as Single-A New York-Penn League State College Spikes Senior VP & GM (RoughRiders)....Roush Fenway Racing named BRUCE MOSLEY VP/Strategic Marketing (THE DAILY)....The New York State Athletic Commission named THOMAS HOOVER Chair, replacing MELVINA LATHAN (ESPN.com, 1/12).
