Riding Away: Drew Sheinman Leaving Breeders' Cup After Almost Two Years

The Breeders' Cup confirmed late Friday evening that Senior VP and Chief Marketing & Revenue Officer DREW SHEINMAN has left the organization after almost two years to pursue other business interests. Breeders' Cup President & CEO CRAIG FRAVEL in a statement said, "Breeders' Cup appreciates Drew’s contributions to our sponsorship and business development programs and wishes him well in his future endeavors." Sheinman sent out an e-mail Friday to industry execs throughout sports informing them he was leaving. He wrote, "These last two years I have had the honor to serve the Breeders' Cup on a global basis and have been fortunate to help advance the extraordinary qualities of what makes the Breeders' Cup and the sport of horse racing so compelling and uniquely valuable within the world of sports and entertainment. I am proud of what we have accomplished towards reinforcing the Breeders’ Cup as a preeminent, world class property and platform and as I pursue my next chapter I look forward to observing the continued growth of the Breeders' Cup and the industry." He joined the Breeders’ Cup in May ’13 after serving in a number of executive sports marketing positions throughout his career, including at Coca-Cola, the Mets, Orioles and MSG. Immediately prior to joining the Breeders’ Cup, he was CEO of N.Y.-based entertainment and sports marketing advisory firm Vision Works. While at the Breeders’ Cup, Sheinman negotiated sponsorship deals with a number of brands, including Longines, Sentient Jets, Theory, 14 Hands, Geico, Pivotal Payments, Under Armour, the Las Vegas Visitors & Convention Authority and DraftKings.
