Jerry Jones Opening Cowboys-Affiliated Payment Solutions Company In Dallas

Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones is "opening up a new affiliated company" of the team called Blue Star Payment Solutions in partnership with Bank of America Merchant Services, according to Candace Carlisle of the DALLAS BUSINESS JOURNAL. Jones' nephew, Jerry Mooty, will serve as president of the North Texas-based venture, which "initially will pursue merchant businesses using payment processing technology -- or credit card processing -- in Texas." Mooty said, "We want to build brand equity and bring the Cowboys star to the brand." Carlisle noted the new payment solutions company is the "first of its kind with ties to an NFL team and will provide payment products and services from Bank of America Merchant Services through a referral partnership through the Cowboys." The deal "will leverage Bank of America's exclusive bank sponsorship agreement" with the team. Bank of America Merchant Services CEO Tim Tynan said that the partnership "would offer greater customer service and solutions to Blue Star's business clients." As part of the Blue Star family, Mooty said that each merchant "will receive a one-of-a-kind, limited edition piece of [Cowboys'] merchandise, invitations to exclusive events only accessible to Blue Star clients and drawings for unique viewing experiences related to Cowboys games, practices and training camps." The participating merchants "will be automatically enrolled" into the team's official fan club (BIZJOURNALS.com, 1/5).
