Overnights Ratings: UCLA-Kansas State Tops Final Weekend Of College Bowl Games

The final weekend of college bowl games was led by ESPN’s broadcast of the Valero Alamo Bowl. The net drew a 3.6 overnight rating for UCLA’s 40-35 win over Kansas State on Saturday night, down from a 4.6 rating for Oregon-Texas in the same bowl last year, which aired on a Monday night in late December. ESPN also drew a 3.1 overnight for the Birmingham Bowl on Saturday in the lead-up to the net’s first-ever NFL Playoff game. Florida’s win over East Carolina from 12:00-3:45pm ET is up from a 1.9 rating for Vanderbilt-Houston in the same window last year. The final bowl before the CFP Championship -- last night’s GoDaddy Bowl -- drew a 0.8 overnight on ESPN. The Toledo-Arkansas State matchup was down from a 1.1 for Arkansas State-Ball State in the same window last year. Meanwhile, UNLV-Kansas was the top college basketball audience from the weekend. CBS drew a 2.5 overnight for the hoops matchup following the Colts-Bengals Wild Card, up from a 1.9 rating for San Diego State-Kansas in the same window last year following CBS’ Chargers-Bengals Wild Card telecast.
