Chiefs Testing App Offering Concessions Delivery To Fans' Seats

The Chiefs are “looking to offer fans more mobility" as the franchise tests a "locally-made app allowing fans to order concession stand items from their seat” and await their delivery, according to Bobby Burch of the K.C. BUSINESS JOURNAL. During their two last home games during the '14 season, the Chiefs “twice tested Lantern Software Inc.'s mobile platform,” which “enables fans to place an order from their mobile device.” Chiefs President Mark Donovan said, “The tests went very well.” Burch noted through the use of beacons, the app will “ping users as their order arrives.” Orders “can be paid with PayPal's digital wallet service.” Donovan said of beacons, “They're not unique, but it's a little unique in this application. There are a lot of reasons to give this a try and we're happy that the trial period has been a success” (BIZJOURNALS.com, 12/30).
