Lammi Sports Acquires Dormant Wisconsin Athletic HOF, Aims For '16 Induction Ceremony

Lammi Sports Management has "purchased the assets" of the Wisconsin Athletic HOF from the state's Center District and the Wisconsin Sports Development Corporation and "plans to revive and revitalize" it, according to Gary D'Amato of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. The HOF has lain dormant "since the most recent class was inducted" in '09. Lammi Sports Founder & CEO Brian Lammi said that the next induction ceremony "would take place" in '16. Lammi, who grew up in Brown Deer, Wisc., said the revitalization of the HOF was "very much a passion project." Newly created Wisconsin Hall of Fame LLC "will manage the assets and will feature a board of advisers" consisting of HOF inductees, Wisconsin sports execs and community leaders. Lammi said that "preliminary plans for a revitalized Hall of Fame included ancillary events such as a nomination luncheon, a series of speakers' breakfasts, gallery nights and a traveling exhibit of artifacts." He is "actively seeking sponsorships and corporate partners." D'Amato noted Lammi Sports "produces 14 sports-themed television shows annually and counts" former NFLer Donald Driver and Packers WR Jordy Nelson "among its clients" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 12/16).
