CONCACAF Reveals Host Cities, Venues For '15 Gold Cup

CONCACAF yesterday announced the host cities and venues for the '15 Gold Cup, which will be played July 7-26 in the U.S. The confederation also announced group seeds and group stage dates as well. Soccer United Marketing and CONCACAF had previously run a six-month RFP process to select the stadiums, with more than 30 venues bidding to host games. Thirteen different venues were selected, with Toronto’s BMO Field being the first Canadian stadium to hold a Gold Cup match. The USMNT team is one of three seeded nations and will play in group A. Costa Rica and Mexico are also seeded, and will play in groups B and C, respectively. The USMNT will kick off the tournament July 7 in Dallas, and will also play July 10 in Boston and July 13 in K.C. The results of the tournament will help in determining the CONCACAF representatives for the Centennial Cup America in '16 and the FIFA Confederations Cup in '17. The USMNT won the '13 Gold Cup, which was also held in the U.S.
