Time For A Commercial Break: Memorable Sports Ads From '14

This past year saw another stellar group of sports-themed ads as companies tried to differentiate themselves in an increasingly crowded marketplace and make an impression on consumers. Here are some ads that rose above the clutter.

DEREK & THE DOMINOS: Nike’s creative machine once again captured the moment and delivered a poignant Jordan Brand spot to honor retiring Yankees SS Derek Jeter. The spot features fans, celebrities and former teammates tipping their cap to “The Captain” in a sign of respect and admiration during his final season in pinstripes. Even Red Sox fans, so loathe to honor anything Yankee-related, tip their cap in the spot. The ad features no dialogue, yet speaks volumes to Jeter’s popularity and marketing prowess.

THEY CALL ME JAM-BOOGIE: The hype and excitement surrounding Browns QB Johnny Manziel enabled him to sign some high-profile endorsement deals, including one with Snickers. Manziel’s hunger gets the best of him as he ends up teaching an aerobics class for a room full of middle-aged women who chant his name, "Johnny JamBoogie."
