Auto Club Speedway Promotes Dave Allen To President, Filling Role Vacated By Zucker

Auto Club Speedway promoted VP/Sales & Marketing DAVE ALLEN to succeed GILLIAN ZUCKER as President of the track, according to Jim Peltz of the L.A. TIMES. Zucker last month left the track to become Clippers President of Business Operations. Allen has held his position since '06 and in '08 helped Zucker "secure the Auto Club deal that led to the track's current name" (L.A. TIMES, 12/16). Specialty Equipment Market Association Senior VP/Operations BILL MILLER, who previously served as track President, said of Allen, "He's totally the right fit. Dave was instrumental in helping build the California Speedway brand in the early years. He's done an outstanding job of taking care of the guests and sponsors." In California, Louis Brewster notes Allen has been at the track "during its early glory days and during the recession that ended a string of sellouts" for both NASCAR and IndyCar races. However, the track in the past two years "reversed the trend, posting sellouts for the NASCAR races" (Inland Valley DAILY BULLETIN, 12/16).

OTHER TRACK MOVES: Martinsville Speedway promoted Dir of Operations MATTHEW BRANNOCK to VP/Operations and ticket agent ASHLEY OAKES to Marketing Coordinator. The track also hired HEATHER MOTLEY as a ticket agent (Martinsville Speedway)....Sonoma Raceway promoted Senior Dir of Media & Community Relations DIANA BRENNAN to VP/Media & Community Relations (Sonoma Raceway).
