Brewers Announce Construction Of Fan Experience Honoring Selig, Team History

The Brewers yesterday announced the "construction of a new fan experience at Miller Park, a state-of-the-art attraction to honor" retiring MLB Commissioner and former Brewers Owner Bud Selig, according to Tom Haudricourt of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. Known as the “Selig Experience,” the exhibit "will be located on Miller Park’s Loge Level in the left field corner." A highlight of the attraction "will be a multimedia presentation that tells the story of Selig’s role" in saving MLB in Milwaukee, his "successful efforts to bring the Brewers to the city, and his dedication to promoting and growing the game in his hometown." The attraction "will be open year-round." The exhibition space "totals approximately 1,400 square feet, and will include authentic artifacts from Selig’s tenure as the Brewers owner." The design and production "is being led" by California-based BRC Imagination Arts (JSONLINE.com, 12/15). Selig said, "The franchise really has a remarkable history. ... This is just such a meaningful project." In Milwaukee, Jim Hoehn notes the "Selig Experience" is "expected to open in late May or June." BRC Imagination Arts has "worked with Disney, the Olympic Games and several museums, including the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Ill., which was the impetus for the Selig project." Brewers COO Rick Schlesinger said that there will be "no extra charge to ticket holders for admission to the exhibit on game days." On non-game days and during the offseason, the exhibit "will be part of stadium tours and open by invitation and special reservation" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 12/16).
