CBS on Thursday said that it "has extended" the contract of President & CEO LES MOONVES for two years. His contract "had been scheduled to end" in June '17. This was the "second two-year extension the board has approved for Moonves" (L.A. TIMES, 12/12)....The Hawks and Philips Arena named Edelman PR Senior VP/Diversity & Inclusion NZINGA SHAW Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer (Hawks). Shaw "will report directly" to Hawks CEO STEVE KOONIN. The hiring "follows racially charged comments" by Managing Partner BRUCE LEVENSON and GM DANNY FERRY, which "were revealed before the season." Shaw said that one of her goals "is to help rebuild the Atlanta community's trust in the team" (AP, 12/11). 

EXECS: MSG Media promoted Senior VP/Legal & Business Affairs ADAM LEVINE to Exec VP/Business Affairs (MSG)....NASCAR on Thursday promoted five execs to VP positions in its Daytona Beach and Charlotte offices. They include DAVID HIGDON for Integrated Marketing Communications (Daytona), CORY POSOCCO for the NASCAR Events Group (Daytona), CHAD SEIGLER for Team Marketing Services (Charlotte), COLIN SMITH for NASCAR Digital Media (Charlotte) and TSHNEKA TATE for NASCAR Legal in Charlotte (NASCAR)....St. Bonaventure Univ. named RON ZWIERLEIN interim AD, replacing STEVE WATSON, who last month left the school after eight seasons. He begins his position Dec. 29 (BUFFALO NEWS, 12/11)….Oregon State Univ. hired BYU Dir of Football Operations ZACH NYBORG for a yet-to-be-determined position under new coach GARY ANDERSEN (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 12/12).
