Many True Champions: Web Traffic Soars With News Of CFP Final Four Teams

During last Sunday's CFP Selection Show on ESPN, TCU message board KillerFrogs.com became a "destination for fans wanting to sound off about the Frogs or the playoff," averaging a record 5,494 viewers as the school "floated on the bubble," according to Travis Brown of the FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM. The site "collected 354,104 page views Sunday, with 11,672 of those coming from unique addresses." In the first seven days of December, the site "had 1.5 million page views, on pace to break the monthly record of 4 million views set in November." Of course, it was not the only "TCU-focused domain that saw an influx of traffic," as HornedFrogBlitz.com saw a 25% increase in traffic, PurpleMenace.com saw a 77% increase and FrogsOWar.com saw a 25% increase. Star-Telegram.com had an 11.3% "increase in page views from the previous Sunday, 658,611 on CFP Sunday compared with 591,894 the previous week," with TCU stories accounting for "four of the top five stories on the website." The "same was said" of the Rivals sites for Baylor (Sic’EmSports.com) and Ohio State (BuckeyeGrove.com), which saw increases of "five times the normal traffic" and a 20% increase in traffic Sunday compared with last year, respectively (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 12/11).
