Corner Kicks: UEFA Extends Marketing Deal With CAA Eleven To Include New Tourney

UEFA extended the remit of its exclusive marketing agency for the sale of certain media and commercial rights, CAA Eleven, to include its new Nations League tournament. The exec committee approved an agreement with CAA Eleven. This means that the agency will now also be responsible for managing the commercial rights to the Nations League as well as the European Qualifiers, European Championships and friendly matches. The Nations League received the unanimous backing of all UEFA member associations at a meeting in March and UEFA on Thursday said that its inaugural edition will be played from Sept.-Nov. '18. CAA Eleven will also continue to manage the rights to the final tournaments of UEFA's other national team competitions (CAA Eleven).

ASTON MARKETING: In London, Neil Moxley reports EPL club Aston Villa is "putting the naming rights" for the Holte End of Villa Park "up for grabs." The club "is undertaking a major new sponsorship drive and one of the most iconic stands in English football could be given a new moniker." Villa recently named Tom Fox CEO and also is "recruiting a commercial director." Part of the brief was to "raise funds through selling the naming rights of the stands at Villa Park." The Holte End "would be the obvious starting point as it remains the favoured stand for the club’s hardcore support" (London DAILY MIRROR, 12/8).

COVER PIECE: Coveroo today announced that it has partnered with MLS to showcase logos and artwork from teams on fans' cellphone cases or other mobile devices. The deal includes all 20 MLS teams, including NYC FC and Orlando City SC, who begin play next year (Coveroo).
