Spreading The Word: NBA Creates Official Feeds On New Social Media Outlets Yo, Milq

The NBA has created official league destinations on startup social media destinations Yo and Milq. Yo, a mobile messaging application, allows users to send push notifications to friends with embedded links and content. Milq, a user-generated curation service, seeks to organize videos, music, and other forms of digital content. The NBA's Yo channel, located at yonba.co, will feature specialized alert profiles such as ones for top dunks and buzzer-beating shots. The league's Milq destination, located at milq.com/p/nba, will feature a series of video playlists, called beads, such as ones devoted to best celebrations of all time and top plays by rookies. The NBA frequently has been quick to experiment on emerging social media platforms. Both Yo and Milq made their debuts this past spring.
