Data Shows NFL Fans Want Scores On Their Mobile Devices Whether At Home Or In Venue

NFL fans spend 33% more time on their mobile devices than the average U.S. mobile user, while on average, they spend 1 hour, 42 minutes per day on those mobile devices just on football related activities, according to recent data from mobile marketing firm ThinkNear. Another 97% of NFL fans who participate in a fantasy league make weekly changes to their team using a mobile device. Among fans watching NFL games on their TV at home, 86% said they use the phone to track other game scores, while 72% said they use it to order food or refreshments. For fans attending games, 80% said they were most interested in getting game stats and live replays on their phones at the venue, while 78% of respondents said they are most interested in receiving either concession/merchandise discounts or future game discounts. The ThinkNear poll was conducted online in October with the aid of research firm Qualtrics among 436 U.S. adults. Of those polled, 300 identified themselves as NFL fans with a mobile device (ThinkNear).
