In Portland, Allan Brettman reports Nike is "planning to build two office buildings and two parking garages on the northeast side" of its World HQ campus near Beaverton, Ore., "doubling the scope of the headquarters-expansion project it originally envisioned two years ago." The largest of the two buildings "will have 649,000 square feet with 238,000 of auxiliary space, and the other building will have 412,000 square feet of office space." The combined 1.3 million square feet in office space "more than doubles" the 555,000 the company had previously planned. Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation Communications Coordinator STEPHEN ROBERTS said that construction "is expected to begin in the first three months of next year," pending county approval (Portland OREGONIAN, 11/20).

SORRY CHARLIE: Lawyers for EDDIE MUSSELMAN, publisher of the "irreverent newsletter-type publication known as 'Indian Charlie,' have filed suit in U.S. District Court in Louisville to prevent Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission's executive director for indefinitely denying him access" to the racetrack. Musselman has not been allowed on Churchill property since "shortly after getting in a fistfight with trainer DALE ROMANS and Romans' life partner, TAMMY FOX, on June 26." The suit "alleges Churchill (with its director of security ROBERT KING also a defendant) and the KHRC are violating Musselman's constitutionally protected property interests, including his right to utilize his commission-approved vendor's license, without due process" (Louisville COURIER-JOURNAL, 11/20).

I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD SINGHS: Attorneys for the PGA Tour "have turned their attention to IMG ... in the Tour's ongoing lawsuit with VIJAY SINGH."
