People & Personalities: Digger Phelps Joins Campus Insiders As Basketball Analyst

In Chicago, Ed Sherman reported former ESPN college basketball analyst Digger Phelps "has signed on to be a basketball analyst for Campus Insiders, the Chicago-based site that covers college sports." Phelps' first appearance was yesterday, and he will appear on Campus Insiders "throughout the season, including conducting select interviews with coaches." The 73-year-old "also is joining Twitter at @diggerphelps." Phelps "left ESPN last spring after serving 20 years as an analyst" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 11/17).

BACK TO BEANTOWN? Entercom Boston VP &Marketing Manager Phil Zachary said he and former WEEI-FM host Glenn Ordway have met on "three or four occasions" to discuss Ordway's return to the station and both are "open to the appropriate opportunity." In Boston, Gayle Fee reported Ordway "could be back on the air early next year, teamed up for a new 'Big Show' with the just-hired Jerry Thornton, and 'a revolving cast of third men in'" (BOSTON HERALD, 11/17).

KING OF QUEENS: ESPN N.Y.'s Adam Rubin reported WOR-AM "has resigned" Mets radio color analyst Josh Lewin "as the partner" for play-by-play announcer Howie Rose. Lewin "will enter his fourth season as a Mets announcer" in '15, and his second with WOR (ESPNNY.com, 11/14).
