Kershaw Already Cashing In On Historic Season By Signing Deal With Subway

Dodgers P Clayton Kershaw has signed an endorsement deal with Subway through at least the '15 MLB season. Subway CMO Tony Pace said the deal came about after it was discovered that the NL MVP and Cy Young Award winner eats at Subway locations on days he pitches. The QSR announced the deal Thursday night with posts on its Facebook and Twitter accounts congratulating both Kershaw and fellow Subway endorser Angels CF Mike Trout, who took home AL MVP honors. Subway also took out an ad in Friday's USA Today announcing the Kershaw signing and congratulating the two. The length and financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Pace said the “probability is quite high” that Subway will feature both Kershaw and Trout during next season’s Freeway Series between the Dodgers and Angels. Kershaw will predominately promote his sandwich of choice, the turkey and Swiss. He becomes the latest athlete endorser for Subway, and joins a deep roster that includes Trout, Phillies 1B Ryan Howard, Thunder G Russell Westbrook and Redskins QB Robert Griffin III. Kershaw also has deals with 2K Sports, CytoSport (Muscle Milk), Under Armour and Wilson Sporting Goods. See the full endorsement portfolio for Clayton Kershaw at Resource Guide LIVE.
