NFL Franchise Notes: Presence Of Visiting Fans Growing Stronger Around League

The WALL STREET JOURNAL's Kevin Clark wrote it "has become easier" for NFL fans to "have a sizable presence in an opponent's stadium." With the emergence of sites such as StubHub and NFL partner TicketExchange, fans "can easily grab tickets even a few hours in advance and make the trip." StubHub data shows that out-of-region fans "account for 40% of NFL tickets sold on the site, up 14% in three years." SeatGeek data shows that when the Cowboys and Steelers play on the road, an extra 25% of tickets "are sold on the secondary market" (WSJ.com, 11/11).

CAPITAL COUPON: In DC, Scott Allen noted the Redskins are offering a $99 Living Social deal that includes "an upper-level ticket, a T-shirt and a $75 food and beverage credit." The deal "is good for Sunday’s game against the Bucs or the Redskins’ Week 14 home game against the Rams" (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 11/11).

WHEN THE WIND BLOWS: In Chicago, Steve Rosenbloom wrote the Bears did not make any moves following Monday night's blowout loss to the Packers "because the Bears seem to have an infinite tolerance for national humiliation." Rosenbloom: "And because the Bears hate you. They must hate you, because otherwise, how else can you explain the way some of the people in charge play you for stupid?" (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 11/11).

AQUA AURA: In Miami, Armando Salguero reported the Dolphins "are going full aqua jersey over aqua pants" for tomorrow night's home game against the Bills. It will "mark the first time since the team changed uniforms last season that the Dolphins wear an alternate type uniform" (MIAMIHERALD.com, 11/11).

MANE CONCERN: In Detroit, Josh Katzenstein notes the Lions yesterday "hosted a safety clinic for more than 200 local mothers to help teach them safety measures like nutrition, hydration and concussion awareness, something many NFL teams have done." The event was in conjunction with USA Football's Heads Up Football program (DETROIT NEWS, 11/12).
