The Pistons last night "honored veterans on Military Night" and, along with National Guard Sgt. ERIC LUND, "officially introduced a specially designed T-shirt that will raise funds to make daily life a bit easier for wounded veterans." Pistons F KYLE SINGLER and reps for non-profit Fashion Has Heart "tapped Lund as a candidate for a design project." The result "is a gray T-shirt with red-and-blue waves that represent the stripes of the U.S. flag and Lund learning how to surf after he was wounded." It "sells for $20," and proceeds "benefit injured veterans" (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 11/10).

PURPLE-AND-GOLD CARPET: A documentary titled "33STR8" premiered last Thursday night at L.A. Live with Basketball HOFers JERRY WEST and JAMES WORTHY in attendance, along with Lakers GM MITCH KUPCHAK, Dir of Scouting BILL BERTKA and Heat President PAT RILEY, among others. The film, which is about the Lakers' '71-72 championship season, "is light on action footage and heavy on interviews, which seems to work" (L.A. TIMES, 11/8).

NAMES: Arizona State alum JOHN EDDY and his wife, TRACY, "made a $700,000 donation for the endowment of a scholarship" in the name of late ASU football player PAT TILLMAN, who was killed in '04 during military service (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 11/9)....Orioles CF ADAM JONES on Saturday “attended the dedication of the new Westport/Winans Homes Boys and Girls Club in Baltimore, the product of a $45,000 donation from Jones and the Orioles Charitable Foundation to completely renovate the center” (BALTIMORESUN.com, 11/8)....Houston police are investigating a claim by Texans LB coach MIKE VRABEL that someone broke into his house and “took his three Super Bowl rings.” Vrabel on Saturday tweeted “about the break-in at his home in the Houston enclave of Bellaire” (AP, 11/8)....A MICHAEL JORDAN rookie card “expected to earn more than $80,000 in an online auction failed to sell” on Friday. Heritage Auctions said that bidding “didn’t meet the consigner-mandated reserve of $60,000.” Heritage is now offering the card from '86 "for $71,700 on its website” (AP, 11/7)....Fox NFL analyst TERRY BRADSHAW has listed his 750-acre, southern Oklahoma ranch for $10.8M (OKLAHOMAN, 11/8).
