AS Roma Adds More North American Presence With Mia Hamm, Cam Neely Named To BOD

National Soccer HOFer Mia Hamm and Bruins President Cam Neely yesterday were among a handful of Americans "nominated by Roma shareholders" to the Serie A club’s BOD, according to Kyle Bonn of NBCSPORTS.com. A report from an Italian site noted Hamm will be "placed in charge of the Roma academies." AS Roma, owned by Celtics investor James Pallotta, also added Shamrock Holdings BOD Chair and former Disney BOD member Stanley Gold to its BOD. The new additions "will replace" Red Sox investor Thomas DiBenedetto, N.Y.-based attorney Joe Tacopina and former AS Roma CEO & COO Claudio Fenucci (NBCSPORTS.com, 10/27).

: Former NASL Tampa Bay Rowdies Owner, President & GM Andrew Nestor is part of a new ownership group that has purchased Serie B side Bologna FC. Nestor’s partners in the venture include Impact Owner Joey Saputo and Tacopina (Bologna). NBCSPORTS.com's Bonn noted Fenucci "will reportedly join" the Bologna group (NBCSPORTS.com, 10/27).
