Overnight Ratings: ESPN, CBS Tie For Lead Among College Football Games

A pair of college football games including two top-five ranked teams from the state of Mississippi helped ESPN and CBS lead the weekend in overnight ratings (outside of NFL and MLB coverage). ESPN earned a 3.3 overnight Saturday evening for LSU's upset win over No. 3-ranked Ole Miss, while CBS garnered the same number for top-ranked Mississippi State's win over Kentucky from 3:30-7:00pm ET. Both overnights mark an 18% increase for ESPN and CBS over comparable Week 9 game windows last year. Meanwhile, ABC earned a 2.5 overnight for Michigan State's blowout win over Michigan from 3:30-7:00, up 25% from the net's comparable regional game in '13. Finally, ABC garnered a 3.1 overnight for Ohio State-Penn State in primetime, up 19% from the same matchup last year.

The charts below list overnight ratings from weekend telecasts on broadcast TV.
