Sources said that the Yankees will promote Player Development Consultant GARY DENBO to VP/Baseball Operations, replacing the retiring Senior VP/Baseball Operations MARK NEWMAN, “who has overseen the Yankees’ minor leagues for the last 15 years.” The source added that Yankees Dir of Player Development PAT ROESSLER “won’t be back” (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 10/21).

EXECS: The Pacers promoted Dir of Merchandise & Sales GARY NELSON to VP/Merchandise & Sales (Pacers)....Avalanche Dir of Amateur Scouting RICK PRACEY “is no longer with the team.” Pracey “was considered among the NHL’s best in identifying young talent” (DENVER POST, 10/19)....The Univ. of Cincinnati gave CFO OMAR BANKS the added title of Exec Senior Associate AD/Internal Affairs, and promoted Assistant AD/Major Gifts KAREN HATCHER to Exec Senior Associate AD/External Affairs (UC).
