NASCAR Announces Promotions For 11 Senior-Level Execs

NASCAR yesterday completed a series of promotions for many of its senior-level execs. NASCAR Chair & CEO BRIAN FRANCE in a statement said the new titles "reflect both past accomplishments and the added responsibilities that they will carry moving forward." With the changes, ED BENNETT now joins CMO STEVE PHELPS and Exec VP/Racing Development STEVE O'DONNELL as one of three Exec VPs within the sanctioning body. This comes after he was tapped by IMSA Chair and NASCAR BOD member JIM FRANCE to oversee the merger of the Grand-Am and American Le Mans series, becoming IMSA CEO in June. Bennett retains his administration role within NASCAR, with his promotion from Senior to Exec VP reflecting his rise within the organization.

REPORTING FOR DUTY: Despite the title changes, reporting structures have not been altered. STEVEN HERBST and ERIC NYQUIST report to COO BRENT DEWAR; JILL GERGORY and JIM CASSIDY report to O’Donnell; JIM O’CONNELL, KIM BRINK and BRETT JEWKES report to Phelps; PAULA MILLER reports to Nyquist; Bennett and KAREN LEETZOW report to General Counsel GARY CROTTY; SUSAN SCHANDEL reports to Bennett.
