MLB Attendance Flat During '14 Season, But Mariners, A's, Royals Show Strong Gains

MLB attendance was relatively flat in ’14, with the league’s 30 teams averaging 30,458 fans per game compared to 30,515 per game last season. The league's total attendance of 73.74 million fans was MLB's seventh-best figure on record. The Mariners led all MLB clubs in gains in '14, up 17% at Safeco Field. The A's and Royals also saw strong gains, with both clubs up 12% at home. Total attendance for Royals games at Kauffman Stadium was the club's best since '91. The Orioles, whose average attendance was up 6% during a run to the AL East title, drew the club's best total attendance figure since '05. The Rangers saw the sharpest drop among AL clubs, down 13% in Arlington. Listed below are attendance figures for AL clubs during the '14 regular season, with comparisons to '13.
