Sales Of Bengals' Devon Still Jerseys Nearing 10,000 As Donations Approach $1M Mark

The Bengals have sold nearly 10,000 of DT Devon Still's No. 75 jersey since they went on sale three weeks ago, and have "approached $1 million raised" as a way to generate money for the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, according to Coley Harvey of ESPN.com. The team on Nov. 6 during a Thursday night game against the Browns "will present a check" to the hospital to help with its "pediatric cancer research efforts." The Bengals also are "absorbing the cost of making the first 10,000 jerseys -- approximately $500,000 -- allowing the full sale price of the jerseys to go to the hospital." The hospital will "continue to benefit from all sales minus the cost of the jerseys" after the first 10,000 are sold. The team began selling Still's jersey after his 4-year-old daughter was diagnosed with cancer (ESPN.com, 9/28). The Bengals said that orders for Still's jersey "have come from all 50 states," including Canada, the U.K. and Australia. There is a link on Bengals.com "for direct contributions" to the hospital (USATODAY.com, 9/28).
