Executive Transactions

The Univ. at Buffalo gave AD DANNY WHITE a five-year extension through ’19, which “continues UB’s trend of pre-emptive deals designed to keep key athletics department players together.” White joined UB in March ’12 and at the time was the youngest FBS AD at 32 years old. It “has widely been assumed since his hiring that White would not stay at UB a long time.” The extension, “which no doubt includes a pay raise, would appear to enhance the commitment between White and the university” (BUFFALO NEWS, 9/11).

EXECS: Boston Univ. named DREW MARROCHELLLO AD, who held the role on an interim basis since July when former AD MIKE LYNCH stepped down. Marrochello was most recently BU Deputy AD for seven years (BOSTON HERALD, 9/11)....The Univ. of Maryland named former men’s basketball coach GARY WILLIAMS Senior Managing Dir for Alumni Relations & Athletic Development (CSNBALTIMORE.com, 9/10)....The Int’l Tennis HOF & Museum BOD elected former player TODD MARTIN CEO, succeeding MARK STENNING, who stepped down last Friday after holding the role since September ’00. Martin also will serve as ATP HOF Tennis Championships Tournament Dir (Int’l Tennis HOF & Museum)....Sources said that former New Jersey State Athletic Control Board Commissioner LARRY HAZZARD “is set to replace” AARON DAVIS, who replaced Hazzard six-plus years ago. The 69-year-old Hazzard “is expected to resume his duties Sept. 18, when Davis officially will be reassigned to an undisclosed advisory role within the state’s Department of Law and Public Safety” (NORTHJERSEY.com, 9/10)....Back9Network named England-based alternative magazine Golf Punk Managing Editor TAYLOR MASSEY Dir of Golf Creative (Back9Network).
