In K.C., James Dornbrook noted the Chiefs this season are selling a "special new beer called Kingdom Red Ale that will only be offered at Arrowhead Stadium and team events." Kingdom Red Ale is "one result of a brand new multiyear agreement signed this past offseason between the Chiefs and Anheuser-Busch." There will be "about a dozen taps" offering the beer at the venue, and there "have been conversations about potentially bottling the beer down the road" (K.C. BUSINESS JOURNAL, 9/5 issue).
THE LOVE BOAT: MARKETING DAILY's Tanya Gazdik Irwin reported Princess Cruises is "partnering with several NFL football teams in hopes of expanding the cruise line's presence in key markets." Princess has partnered with the Bears, Seahawks, 49ers and Texans. The cruise line will be "showing the most highly watched games the NFL has to offer on its signature 'Movies Under the Stars' gigantic screens and throwing a tailgate party each week" (MEDIAPOST.com, 9/8).
SURF'S UP: WOMEN'S WEAR DAILY's Joelle Diderich reported pro surfer Kelly Slater has chosen the name "Outerknown" for his "men's and women's ready-to-wear line, set to hit stores in fall 2015 as part of a strategic partnership with Kering." Slater said that he has tapped men's wear brand M.Nii co-Owner John Moore "as co-founder and creative director overseeing products and marketing at Outerknown." Slater in April announced that he had "parted ways with sponsor Quiksilver after 23 years" (WWD.com, 9/8).
