Cheese Plate: New Menu Options At Lambeau Include 22-Inch "Horse Collar" Sausage

Packers concessionaire Delaware North Cos. is "stepping up its food game" at Lambeau Field this season with new items including "a hot doughnut ice cream sandwich and a 22-inch-long kielbasa called the Horse Collar," according to Darren Rovell of ESPN.com. Lambeau Field Exec Chef Heath Barbato said that the idea of a doughnut ice cream sandwich "would only work if the doughnut could be hot, while the ice cream remained cold." Barbato also "looked at the trend of teams that were putting their own local spin on nachos and put that twist into 'Bratchos,' which will be sold for $12 at Lambeau this year." The Horse Collar Sausage, selling for $20, "fits on a roll made at Lambeau and is drenched in beer cheese and fried sauerkraut" (ESPN.com, 8/21). ESPN's Jackie MacMullan said, "I'm queasy looking at all of them. I thought for a minute that ice cream sandwich might have been green with the fruit." Columnist Kevin Blackistone said, "I'm all over that ice cream inside of a doughnut with a little fruit on the side. That looks fantastic" ("Around The Horn," ESPN, 8/21).
