Cook Named UFC Chief Global Officer, Now Among Organization's "Most Powerful Figures"

UFC Exec VP & Managing Dir of Europe, Middle East and Africa GARRY COOK is "moving to Las Vegas" to take the position of UFC Chief Global Officer, according to Dave Meltzer of MMAFIGHTING.com. This would make Cook "one of the most powerful figures in the organization, as he would be in charge of all the international territories." He previously worked as CEO of EPL club Manchester City, and joined the UFC "two years ago." Meanwhile, Exec VP & Managing Dir for Asia MARK FISCHER has "been released." Prior to joining the UFC four years ago, Fischer had been a "key player in establishing the NBA brand in China." During his tenure, the UFC produced a season of "THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER" on Chinese television, but had "not been able to break into the largest cities in China for live events" (MMAFIGHTING.com, 8/15).
