Temper Trap: Ray Lewis To Host Spike TV Show That Helps Coaches With Anger Issues

Spike TV is teaming with ESPN's Ray Lewis for a new series "exploring coaching and anger management," according to Lesley Goldberg of the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. The series, titled "Coaching Bad," will feature nine coaches "receiving instruction from Lewis and anger management specialist Dr. Christian Conte." It will be filmed in L.A. and debut in the first quarter of '15. Spike has ordered eight hour-long episodes. The coaches come from a "variety of different sports from across the country, with the series featuring the nine moving into a Coaching Center" in L.A. At the center they will focus on "intense retraining and reconditioning in a program designed by Lewis and Conte that will include three phases of transformation: assessing the coaches' baseline anger issues, working to create real change, and putting that change to the test." Various sports figures will "guest-star and share the negative effects of caustic coaching," including Colts coach Chuck Pagano, former NFLer Bill Romanowski and Clippers F Glen Davis (HOLLYWOODREPORTER.com, 8/4). Spike VP/Development Hayley Lozitsky will serve as the exec "in charge of production," with John Irwin, Damian Sullivan and Richard Hall as Exec Producers (VARIETY.com, 8/4).
