AEG Moving 500 Workers To Historic L.A. Warehouse, With HQ Remaining At L.A. Live

AEG on Tuesday announced that it "is moving some of its operations two blocks to the north" of its L.A. HQ to the 1916 Desmond’s Warehouse building, according to Rick Orlov of the L.A. DAILY NEWS. AEG and city officials said that the plans "show its commitment to remaining" in downtown L.A. as well as to "helping preserve the city’s historic structures." AEG "will rent the entire building," and move 500 of its workers "into the building." Work "is expected to take eight months." AEG "intends to move its AEG Live booking and AXS ticketing divisions to the building, and Goldenvoice, the concert-promoting arm of AEG Live, will take over the top floor." The company's corporate HQ "will remain in L.A. Live" (L.A. DAILY NEWS, 7/9). In L.A., Roger Vincent noted AEG "will lease the entire brick and concrete structure" that comprises Desmond's Warehouse. Lincoln Property Co., which is the landlord of Desmond's Warehouse, is in the midst of a $13M makeover that "will add a glass pavilion to the roof of the existing five-story building, bringing its total area to 82,000 square feet" (L.A. TIMES, 7/9).
