Delany Continuing To Pursue MSG As Host Of '18 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tourney

Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany "continues to push" for the '18 men’s basketball tournament to be played at MSG, and he is "'determined' to make it happen," according to a source cited by Teddy Greenstein of the CHICAGO TRIBUNE. School officials are "concerned about increased costs associated with staging the event in the heart of Manhattan." However, Delany can "combat that by selling the event as a one-time chance to promote the new Big Ten in the nation’s largest media market." The more "intriguing obstacle" is that the Big East "already is locked into the 'championship week' dates for its men’s basketball tournament" that year.
