PGA Tour's BMW Championship Returning To Chicago Area Course For '15 Edition

The BMW Championship, the Western Golf Association and the PGA Tour have "officially decided to return" to Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Ill., in '15 after the event left for the Denver area for this year's edition, according to Teddy Greenstein of the CHICAGO TRIBUNE. BMW has "re-upped as title sponsor" through '19, and WGA officials "envision returning" the FedExCup playoff event to the Chicago area every other year. WGA officials in '17 could "return to Conway Farms or try a venue such as Olympia Fields, the Glen Club or Medinah No. 1," which has undergone a $6.4M renovation. Tournament officials will "meet with Lake Forest and Lake County officials this summer to hatch a better plan that could include shuttling many people from Great America, 12 miles away" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 5/29).
