Chip Ganassi Racing, PNC Bank Agree To Multiyear Sponsorship Deal

Chip Ganassi Racing has "agreed to a multiyear sponsorship agreement with Pittsburgh-based PNC Financial Services Group" for its NASCAR, Verizon IndyCar and TUDOR United Sports Car Championship teams, according to Ralph Paulk of the PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW. The deal "will be announced" today. Other sponsors of CGR include Target, McDonald's, Cessna, Clorox and Kraft Foods. Team Owner Chip Ganassi said, "Given that we are both from Pittsburgh, it makes this announcement even more special. We are happy to be deepening that relationship." The agreement will "focus on five racing markets" in '14: Indianapolis, Atlanta, Chicago, Charlotte, and Richmond. The sponsorship includes Sunday's Indianapolis 500 and the Oct. 11 NASCAR Sprint Cup Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The agreement is the "second between Ganassi and PNC, which also have had a banking relationship that goes back 25 years" (PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW, 5/22).
