Prospective Bucks Owners Make Quiet Trip To Milwaukee To Court Local Investors

Prospective Bucks Owners Marc Lasry and Wesley Edens "quietly slipped" into Milwaukee last week to "meet with top business leaders," according to sources cited by Don Walker of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. Sources said that the two "met last Friday with several people," including Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce President Timothy Sheehy and MMAC arena committee member Ted Kellner. Lasry and Edens "came to town to get up to speed on the progress the MMAC committee has made on coming up with a financing plan and a site for a new arena in Milwaukee to replace the BMO Harris Bradley Center." A source said that there "was a discussion of whether there is interest in local investors." The source said that there "seemed to be a strong interest in adding local investors." The source: "They want to do that to solidify a local presence." Walker noted no one person "has emerged publicly as having an interest in investing with Lasry and Edens," but some possibilities include former NBPA President Junior Bridgeman, Wild Owner Craig Leipold and Brewers Owner Mark Attanasio. There "also is the possibility" of Kellner or Hammes Co. Managing Partner Jon Hammes joining Lasry and Edens (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 5/10).
