NBC Tops Sports Emmy Ranks, While HBO Wins Again For "Hard Knocks"

NBCUniversal and NBC Sports Group won 10 Sports Emmy awards last night, the most among any sports media company for the fourth consecutive year. Fox also earned honors in five different categories, including for its coverage of the World Series, which was named the best live sports special of the year. ESPN walked away with seven awards, highlighted by wins for two ESPN Deportes studio shows in the first year of Spanish-language categories and the first-ever Sports Emmy for the "30 for 30" series. Finally, HBO collected five wins. Its "Hard Knocks" training camp show with the Bengals, made in conjunction with NFL Films, took home three awards. "Hard Knocks" has earned 11 Sports Emmys since launching in '01 (THE DAILY).
