Bank Of America Stadium Upgrades On Schedule With Completion Date Set For July 1

NFL Panthers Dir of Stadium Operations Scott Paul on Friday "led a media tour of the construction areas" at Bank of America Stadium, "pronouncing the project on schedule for a completion date of July 1," according to Erik Spanberg of the CHARLOTTE BUSINESS JOURNAL. Almost all of the 3,900 feet of ribbon boards are "in place." The 63-foot-by-212-foot video screen at the east side of the stadium "has been assembled" and work "continues on the back side framing of the video board and the architectural arches have yet to be installed." A "companion video board" at the west end of the stadium "requires more work." Workers have "installed about 15 of the 32-foot poles to be used for Panthers flags surrounding the stadium as well as speakers for the new audio system." The first escalator went in this week "as part of one of the four bays being built around the stadium." Twelve escalators "will be added, three in each of the bays. The improvements are part of a $112.5M "phased renovation" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 5/5).
