Overnight Ratings: Blackhawks' Clinching Win Deliver's NBC's Best Figure Of '14 Playoffs

NBC averaged a 2.3 overnight rating yesterday for the Blackhawks' series-clinching, Game 6 win over the Blues in the first round of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, the highest number yet for the net in the '14 postseason. There is no comparable game from '13, as NBC did not carry a scond weekend of quarterfinal coverage in '13. The game's 17.2 local rating in Chicago was the highest ever for a first round Blackhawks game in the market. The game also drew a 12.7 local rating in St. Louis, the highest for any Blues game ever on the net in that market. Meanwhile, yesterday’s Flyers-Rangers Game 5 on NBC from 12:00-3:00pm ET drew a 1.6 overnight. The Rangers' 4-2 win averaged a 3.7 local rating in N.Y., the highest ever for a first-round Rangers game on NBC in the market (NBC).
